Tell Me More with Selecia Young-Jones

Not everyone likes to be on camera.

Calling all experienced officiants

In March I sent out requests to enlist experienced officiants to be interviewed on Facebook Livestream. Selecia Young-Jones responded positively. experienced officiants

She’s an experienced officiant with a special rapor for LGBTQ couples. (She loves to marry anyone — see below). Selecia is founder of Rainbow Notary and Nuptials, and is full of energy and enthusiasm for her work.

Selecia began in December 2017, as a Notary and wedding officiant. Her son asked her to officiate his wedding which turned into a calling. She set out to learn how to be an officiant which led to her posting her availability on her Facebook page.

Things fell into place, “ping-ping-ping”. She came up with a name and filed with the State of Florida to DBA Rainbow Notary and Nuptials.

I will marry everyone

Our vivacious interviewee will “marry everyone.” She says, “It is heartbreaking to hear that even today some people

will not marry same-sex couples or mixed-race couples. As someone who had to go to Maryland because there was not marriage equality, I know what some of these couples face.”

Please check out our interview from late April in the Tell Me More series with experienced officiants every Wednesday at 2:00 EST in our Facebook Group.
